Some years ago when my sister began to suffer from the early stages of dementia it quickly became apparent that her phone was becoming too difficult for her to use.
The early mobiles were simple, a flip phone where you just typed in the name of your contact or simply their telephone number. Modern phones were more complicated, albeit with more versatility – cameras, movies etc – but proved too hard for her to remember how to use hers correctly.
I developed this app as a simple means of keeping in contact with me and other family members.
On turning on the phone the only display she had access to was a photo gallery of all of us.
She only had to click on the chosen photo and the phone did the rest.
I decided to publish the app, free of charge, for any one else in a similar situation.
A cheap Android phone (still available for under £50 brand new) or a second hand one will usually suffice to allow them to feel in contact with their loved ones.
